    INTRODUCTION

While not really critical to being a paralegal, this section should help make you aware of the digital interaction between courts, agencies, and other government entities. This is more of a "big-picture" thing. Don't worry about the details. The specifics change from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. But understand the basic environment of connectivity.

As a paralegal working in a private law firm or corporation, the closest you will get to this connectivity is the case management system used by the court for filing, docketing (scheduling), and records. Most courts provide at least limited initiation to these systems, but sometimes they may only be guidelines printed on a Website . Once you start working as a paralegal, contact the court and ask if they have any training for their case management system, or get online and figure out how to find parties by name or by docket number.
