The Finish Line is in Sight!
You are almost finished developing the core skills you will need in the paralegal profession! This final Segment in Essential Skills is designed to expand some of your previously acquired skills and will present some information that brings everything together.
By now you should be comfortable with the Lexis and Westlaw research environments (as well as the law library). Chapter 10 provides some additional online research sources. You may never need to use them, but it is empowering to know they are available, and that your already developed skills will also apply to these alternative research sites.
In addition, this Segment will help you develop non-traditional research and writing techniques. While you should already have developed substantial research and writing skills, this Segment introduces you to a few new twists!
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS SEGMENT . . .
The objectives for Segment F are as follows:
• To fully understand online legal research
• To develop knowledge of treatises and legal periodicals, and to be aware of the methods of regulatory research
• To become familiar with alternate writing techniques
