SECTION NUMBER

SECTION NUMBER
After the pulication abbreviation (U.S.C.), we provide the section number, in this case 1101.

While some attorneys provide only the number, it is probably more appropriate to use a "SECTION SYMBOL" prior to the number. (In Microsoft Word, just click "Insert," then click "Symbol" and browse for the section symbol. It can usually be found under the Times New Roman font, among others.)

If you are unable to provide the SECTION SYMBOL, just abbreviate the word as "Sec." That is just as acceptable.

Now, provide for your section number in the citation we are working on.
