The CJS General Index provides a topic and section number. The researcher notes the topic and section number with which he or she will access the main volumes of CJS
When the researcher sees (this index), the index is signaling the researcher. In other words, telling the researcher that instead of looking in this location, he or she should be researching in another location in the General Index.
Title Index refers to an expanded index in the back of most main volumes. The Title (or Volume) index is dedicated only to that specific topic (such as Negligence).
